Women by a Garden Pool

Scenes of scantily clad or nude women were popular in the court at Jodhpur in the second half of the eighteenth century. Seated on either side of a fountain, the two women in this image are adorned with gold jewelry and have marks on their heads that indicate their devotion to the Hindu god Shiva.
