About The Heritage Lab (THL) Open.

The Heritage Lab began with the purpose of sharing cultural heritage content and resources with everyone. Over the years, our projects and campaigns in collaboration with museums, demonstrated the amazing possibilities of public-participation.

Many Galleries, Libraries, Archives & Museums [GLAMs] around the world have digitised and made their collections available online under various licenses. This encourages even more participation and engagement with culture. It is not always easy though, to discover and browse each collection independently.

And so we built THL Open : a single platform to discover all India-related works which are licensed under terms that make it easy for us to use, download, remix and share.

Read on to know how you can use the website & what you can do with the featured collections & how you can contribute to open-knowledge.

{{*a work in progress : we will continue to add collections each week}}
