Ragini Dhanasri, from a Garland of Musical Modes (Ragamala)

A musical mode performed in the evening, Ragini Dhanasri is depicted here in a palatial setting accompanied by a female attendant. She draws a picture of her lover, while the empty bed to her left alludes to his absence. The pair of cranes soaring above the palace refers to the lovers’ eventual reunion.
