Portrait of a woman wearing a cloak

The royal court at Bikaner included Muslim women. This royal woman wears a white cloak covered with a repeating gilded leaf pattern and a screen sewn in at the forehead. When the cloak is pulled over her face for added modesty, she looks out through the screen.
